Camp-on (also known as Call Waiting) lets you notify someone who is on the phone that you are waiting to be connected with them. An attendant may also camp a call onto a busy station. Upon hearing the Camp-on tone, the busy party can either respond to the camp-on, forward the camp-on or finish the current call.
See Call Waiting - Swap Automatic for alternate 2500 telephone operation.
You cannot camp-on to a station that has Do Not Disturb activated.
You will not hear Camp-on tone:
when you are on Hold;
when you are in a privacy call situation;
when the COS option "Camp-on Tone Security/FAX Machine" is enabled;
on SIP sets
Analog-FXS sets (EX controller).
You cannot camp-on to busy XNET trunk groups.
Automatic camp-on is only supported for non-display sets, such as the 5205 and 5215 IP Phone. To enable automatic camp-on for a non-display phone, set the Auto Camp-on Timer in the COS of the phone to a duration greater than, or equal to, 0 seconds.
The 5302 SIP Phone only supports automatic camp-on.
To force forward camped on calls, see Call Forward - Forced.
To disable the Camp-on feature for external users, set the External Campon Allowed COS option as No. The external user will hear a busy tone and the called party will have no visual or audio indication of the waiting call.
NOTE: A blank value for the Auto Campon Timer disables the Camp-on feature on the trunk regardless of the External Campon Allowed COS setting.
Program the Auto Campon Timer for the device that will initiate Camp-on. Automatic camp-on is only supported for phones without softkeys, ONS stations, and trunks.
Program the Campon Recall Timer for the telephone or console initiating Camp-on.
